What Remains

digital collageprose

The remnants of self — post-loss. Embracing the feelings of loss, confusion and pain is vital when confronting loss after love. Sitting with yourself and feeling the entirety of the emotions you've been left with is a choice you're allowed to make. A choice that'll help you above all understand how and why you feel the things you do, and as you do so, you permit self-understanding and compassion, that in turn heals then frees you.

One day you'll wake up months after sitting with those feelings, and you'll realize the tension in your chest is all gone now, and you've been freed to live as you wish. The best way out is always through, and the only constant in your life is yourself, so sit, listen, and be kind.

Look back on the memories of grief, love, and loss, and be happy you got to feel and experience them to begin with. Sit with yourself and feel, for feeling is living.
